Poems 3
Old School
If experience is the best teacher
I wish she'd give me some slack
it's not a pity to be so wise
Just when we forget to cherish life.
Dreamer
If they ask if I'm a dreamer
Ill say for life
If they ask why
Ill say for keeping things sweet
If they ask what will that do
Ill say life can be cruel
If they ask when will I stop
Ill say when the time comes
If they ask how it will happen
Ill say when my breath has gone.
Gentle
I've never been loud
or one to speak up in upheaval
Ive been there however,
for those in need,
for those hurting,
for those oppressed,
in the quiet I do anything
to help you feel loved.
Stop
I stopped trying to be the perfect woman
and let myself be the flower I always was.
Twenty-one
This new year
after such a tragic time
we hope to meet with a moment
we don't want to end
Instead of death and panic
we hope for love and health
twenty one bring love.
Forgotten tales
We told ourselves stories
the things we wanted to do as we grew
They became forgotten tales
specks of hope in past time
Sometimes our eyes open
Its just enough to remember
the hopeful dreams we tried to grab onto
The struggle is staying awake long enough
so the tales continue
and don't slip through out fingers
Rise and Shine
Get up
Good, now get dressed
Its time to rise and shine
Show the day you're
more than you were
the day before
