December-April new tries

It’s been awhile since I last wrote and I’ve tried many new things since then. I’m always looking for something that will add to the quality of my life and products that make me excited to use.

Planet spirit palette OdenseyexBettyJean

This is one of the things that came in the Odens Eye mystery box that I got a month ago. The colors are bright and a mix of shimmers and mattes. It’s a ten pan palette, and I personally love the way that the Odens Eye shadows work. I think both the shimmers and mattes perform well. I’m not sure if they still sell this palette because they do discontinue products often and sell out fast. I would say though because of the prices I personally wouldn’t have bought this if I didn’t have a discount code or got the mystery box. It is an indie brand so they tend to be a little more price wise but for me unless I have a discount it’s not going to happen for any company. Although they are on the lower end price wise for indie brands so if you want to shop indie but can’t afford things like enslyreign, I would go with Odens Eye.

Stone and Rock Odens Eye

This is another one I received in my mystery box from Odens Eye. I will say if you want to try out this brand their large mystery boxes are the way to go. It’s $75 and I got three palettes and a few jewelry pieces. Every box is different but you’re guaranteed at least two palettes. It’s much better, in my opinion than the colourpop mystery boxes. This color story is beautiful! I love the greens and even though it looks like a more natural palette you can really do a diverse amount of looks with it. Again the quality is really good, probably one of my favorites. Not to mention the packaging is alway gorgeous.

Little Ghost Odens EyexAngelica N

This one I got in November for Black Friday and it was my first introduction to Odens Eye. Let me say it is one of my favorite palettes in my collection now. Not only is Angelica wonderful, she’s one of the few YouTubers I trust to tell me the truth about make up but, the purples in this are just wonderful! Purple is my favorite color and it is so hard to find good purple shadows but they do purple very well. I was not disappointed. It lasts all day and the colors all perform well. Something I appreciate about Odens Eye is many of these palettes are also poc friendly which I think is so important. This brand is also cruelty free which is something I strive for everything in my home to be.

Groovy Garden EnslyReign Cosmetics

This is a 21 shadow palette with14 mattes and 7 shimmers that are duo chrome. When I saw this I knew it was meant for me, I use it so much. The colors are beautiful and so is the formula. The only one I sort of have issues with is the pink duochrome, it’s super flakey and at first I was worried it was a glitter but it’s not it’s a shimmer. Other than that the palette is amazing! It’s kinda pricey and the only palette I didn’t get with a discount $69 and with shipping that’s about $73 so I wouldn’t  usually buy something so expensive but I knew it was one that I would love.

Melt Christmas Town

Now, this was a little bit of a let down for me. I’m a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan and I loved the way the purples looked in this palette so they had a sale for it and I decided to get it. However, it let me down. The mattes are all dry and go in super patchy, I really have to work them to get them to look good and it’s just disappointing for an expensive product. The shimmers are really nice but not worth buying the palette for so if you were looking at this one save your money.

Crème shop faux real freckle stanp and choco-milk lip tint

During the summer I love to enhance my existing freckles and add more around them. I used to use the colourpop freckle pen but I think I like the crème shop one better. It’s the perfect shade for my pale skin. The lip tint is a pretty color but I’m not a fan of the scent, I was hoping for a sweeter smell but it smells like old chocolate powder so I won’t be repurchasing this once it’s gone.

Nyx professional makeup conceal, correct, contiu  cream palette

My skin is as dry as the desert on a good day. For me, cream products tend to work better on my skin than powder products. The cream color corrector from nyx definitely does that, I also got the green color stick they just came out with and I love both products. They’re super affordable and they do not make my dry skin look patchy or my make up look weird.

Elf power grip primer and holy hydration triple bounce serum

Elf is always a good, affordable company to look at when you’re shopping for makeup or skincare. I haven’t tried the primer yet, I got it because I’m almost out of the Milk cosmetics hydrating face primer and although I love it, if I can avoid paying $30 I will. The serum however is super hydrating and I do enjoy it, again as someone with dry skin this is very helpful. Not to mention both products are super affordable.

Cosrx the 6 peptide skin booster serum

This one I didn’t buy, I got it from influencer as a thing to review for free. I’ve used it a few times and so far the only thing I really notice is that it’s calming on my skin but I haven’t been using it long enough to have an opinion on it yet.

Replica Beach Walk perfume

I’m not huge on perfume so I don’t buy them often. My mom gave me this sample one for Christmas and it’s fairly sweet. It’s nice but it’s one I don’t see myself buying after I use it up.

Peauamie eye mask set

As I get older, I have started to pay more attention to my skin and specifically the area under my eyes. I used to buy the fourth ray dew me up eye masks but with inflation I just don’t want to pay that much now for something I’m not using every single day. I got this for $9.99 so far, I like it. It’s a smaller size and it’s super refreshing. The biggest difference is I can tell that these do what they say whereas the other ones I used to get just felt good. This is definitely worth getting if you’re looking for good eye masks.

Urban Decay all nighter setting spray

Urban decay used to be one of my favorite brands in college and I recently started using this setting spray again and it works just as well as I remember it did. It’s $30 so a little pricey but in my opinion worth it, the only drawback is the way it smells is not my favorite and I remember feeling that way about it in college as well.

Those are all my new products recently, have you tried anything new that you’re enjoying? I did go on a book buying spree recently so look for that post coming soon. All in all, I would say over the past few months I have had more hits than misses and I’m super happy about that.

Much love,

M
